Biography

Roberto Rovetta was born in Monza, Italy in 1974. He
attended the professional institute for industry and furniture
design, where he began to learn and appreciate the world
of design, discovering admiration for the history of this
industry and the avant-garde art from the beginning of the
1900's. His first projects are experimental prototypes for
furnishings, built with the help of the Artisans from Brianza,
"Artigiani Brianzoli," the real masters. His desire to discover
the reasoning behind this sector and his strong artistic
calling and technique, encouraged him to follow the design
course at the Politecnico University in Milan.
He has been collaborating for years with the Pico design
studio in Milano, where he learned the discipline of the
"Olivetti method."
In 2001 he worked with the Fiat car company, for the
production of a prototype called "Duemela" city car.
He also collaborated with 3M and Fincantieri for the
conception and development of a new prototype of a boat
cabin.
Following these experiences, Roberto followed research
projects with the Politecnico University together with
designers, the university and small businesses.
"Design hsa always conditioned my life; I couldn't do any
other profession."
A pure, rigorous, logical designer, essential in the forms and
imaginative in finding functionality…His projects awaken a
double vision, a double spirit, between imagination and
geometric study, between poetry and mathematics.
The passion for art and mechanics, always bring him to
express a strong sense of ambivalence between the abstract
and the concrete, giving every project a challenge to
interpret and comprehend. The style, strong and decisive in
his projects, naturally follows an individual path that takes
one outside of the usual schemes, but always seems to find
just the right setting.
