(..)What characterizes Gigi's work is detailed in the subjects of his painting, still in balance between classicism, surrealism, and hallucinatory symbolism from sacred and pagan origin, and research, at the same time, of the tools of technical production of the image; the latter become also the subject / object of the painting and lie at the limit between the lyricism of matter and the metaphysical narrative of real stories. It is in this environment that we encounter anonymous, identical and divergent anatomies that are compared and share the fate of being there; able to come up to a mythical origin, consumed through their own body, as if it were a summary of an evolution that wraps around an archetypal convulsion of paradise lost and violated.
Gigi's painting is not just painting, it is a current flowing impetuously into the gulf of the inscrutable geographies of the mind of this eclectic artist.
