Biography

Stefania Spallanzani was born in 1971 in Carpi - she now lives and works in Busseto; a village in the Parma province.

She attended the institute of Arts in Reggio Emilia and subsequently completed her academic progression at the Accademia di Belle Arti - Bologna, where she studied with professor Concetto Pozzati graduating in Painting in 1994. She subsequently specialized in Restoration and Maintenance of historical buildings.

During the years of her formation and up to 2000, her painting style has a preference for overlaps of images and objects, made with mixed techniques on canvas and with pencils on wooden boards.

The meeting with painter Maurizio Romani (and with the artists that frequent his study) marked a turning point in the artistic development of Stefania Spallanzani that is now is more devoted to the realistic representation of landscapes (mainly with pencils on wooden boards). At the same time, she is also deepening her oil on canvas technique.
