Biography
Sarah Eva is in her final year at the National College of Art and Design, studying for a BA (hons) degree in Fine Art, specialising in Fine Print. Her work has been selected for exhibitions in Dublin, Galway, Donegal, Berlin and Beijing among others. Sarah Eva’s printmaking using Copper Plate Etch, Stone Lithography and Silk Screen take a critical view of social and economical transitory states of mind. Sarah Eva delves into memories and nostalgic occurrences. Having engaged subjects as diverse as family history, cultural demographics and travelled routes, her work constructs romantic recognisable imagery, arranging them into new conceptually layered pieces. Often times these themes are combined into volumes of specific areas of thought. Her prolific area of practise for these volumes is in the Fine Art of Printmaking. This enables her to include the visual rawness of printmaking into the romanticism of her work.
Sarah Eva has spent twenty-one years growing and developing as an artist in the picturesque setting of Ballyrogan House. Having been exposed to so many wonderfully inspirational artists from all backgrounds; she couldn’t help but to be confident in exploring her own artistic qualities.
