THERE IS A POINT WITHIN FROM WHICH WEAVING SPRINGS AND SPREADS OUT ITS HORIZONS.
NEEDLE: ORGANIC EXPRESSION,
ANDROGYNOUS EXPERIENCE.

Embroidery, sewing, needle and thread, fabrics new used and for mending, were once craft tools which found their safe little niche within the silence of the home, and far removed from the world of art.
Folk tools, such as needle and thread, now discarded but once precious and well-loved, now embody a return to a poor art using basic tools, rough, disowned, not encoded but more than ever plunged into the fabric of life.
Such tools are light years away from the ready made concept, since this is the embodiment of a “packaged” object divorced from normal daily life, therefore an end to itself; needle and thread, despite being basic implements, extrapolated from everyday life are objects “in progress” which need to be handled and even to undergo mutations.
