Biography

Oliva and Tibollo create facing a camera, since they have understood that reproduced reality is invented. Their shots are photograms of an inner movie which transforms the body in relation to the environment, letting appear primary instincts, memories of fairy tales and myths. Photographers and performers, they put themselves under the sign of a research which focuses expressiveness on themselves, referring to romantic roots of art, considered as a free ludic activity and so high example of human spirituality’s expression.

The main collective shows they took part in are the two roman editions of I Park Art, the exhibition Shades on the horizon, which took place at the Accademia dei Partenopei in spring 2012, and the three editions of FotoX1000, from 2009 selected event in the official circuit of FotoGrafia - International Festival of Rome. In 2010 a photograph of their own was chosen to represent the exhibition in the catalogue of the Festival, that year entitled Futurspectives. In October 2011 the duo joined the workshop-performance TAXXI at the MAXXI in Rome, ideated among others by Gianni Piacentini, Alì Assaf and Myriam Laplante. Some photographs by the two young artists are exhibited at the Takeawaygallery in Rome.

At the present time Oliva and Tibollo are preparing a cycle of works named Plasmattori / Mouldactors, in which sculpture supplies the subject with slight prosthesis, minimal scenographical additions that become one of the important interpretative keys to decipher the image. The result is faithfully real and absolutely unlikely: acid colors, wide-angle landscapes, performative photography.
