Biography
Valentina Angeloni (b. 1978) is an Italian artist and photographer working between Milan and New York. Her photographic approach is based on interpretation, in finding for reality elements other meanings.
Always interested in Architecture and Design, she started photographing architectural details in 2003 while studying Interior Design at Parsons School in New York: soon windows, hinting at different interiors - and life - possibilities, became the main subject of her inspiration archive and later the focus of her artistic research.
Her “window portraits” have been first exhibited in 2011, with solo shows in London (Gallery Fumi) and in Milan (Studio Nerino), and a collective show in Porto Cervo (Gallery Fumi). This work was awarded in the Photodreaming 2011 competition and was recently selected by Philippe Garner (International Head of the Photography Department at Christie's) to be featured on La Lettre de la Photographie.
Valentina graduated in Modern Literature and Philosophy from the University of Milan in 2006. She worked in New York City at the design gallery Moss and as independent art/design curator until 2010. Since then she devotes herself exclusively to her art and to photography.
