Biography
In Pedrosa’s work mediation and immediacy play with each other. Her work provides an immediate experience by taking gestures from everyday life and other sources, framing them out of context and having them repeated almost always by amateur performers, so they stand for being an example of the things they have in common with a certain class. Departing from direct observation, she builds a system of notations and creates a script that can be scored in many ways. Then, she mediates the result of that scoring. Drawing an action upon an action, space becomes text that becomes space again.
