Biography

Antonella Magliozzi lives and works in Gaeta (art City), a small seaside town in greater Rome.
Her father Ciro taught her how to acquire and skilfully apply the finest techniques; since his premature death, Antonella has always taken inspiration from the memory of him. Later, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples graduating in painting with honors (magna cum laude).
She joined a group of young Italian painters, and took up experimenting late 20th century European and American abstract art; she has finally reached her own personal dimension as an informal- abstract painter.
Magliozzi is now recognized as the pioneer of Graffialismo, a painting technique based on a close relation between graphical sign and inner sensations and impressions; her uniqueness lies in the way she can exalt both lines and colours, whose synergy effectively depict, passions, emotions and spirit, in a new form of universal communication.
Magliozzi’s production can be connected to the stream of the masters of abstract art, namely Vasilij Kandinskij and Jackson Pollock, although a deeper spiritual mood is easily perceived.
Magliozzi has so far taken part in major national and international exhibitions; her artworks are found in public and private collections (Italy, France, United States and China). Particularly appreciated in Japan, she has been invited to exhibit at the International Biennials of Contemporary Art in Himeji (2016 / 2018 editions).
As of now, she is applying herself on new works, which will once again show her attention to contemporary issues, such as love and care for Nature.
Besides painting, Antonella Magliozzi enjoys sculpture, poetry and singing; on special occasions she merges these complementary skills in compositions which are highly appreciated by critics and general public.
