Biography
Mark Hanham, a talented, successful young artist, is nothing if not avant-garde. Mark is a huge personality: fascinating, attractive and articulate. With a Masters in Fine Art, he has a decade long history of hugely strong commercial sales. Mark has been represented by galleries such as Christopher Day, Shapiro and Marlene Antico and well as Menzies, Art Index and IAG auction houses. Mark is in many national commercial and private collections and is also represented internationally in France, Singapore, Tokyo and Los Angeles. He is sought after more and more by galleries as his popularity and market value continue to increase rapidly. On record as one the most highly traded artists in Australia and New Zealand, Mark also creates a storm at Art Sydney and Art Melbourne. His auction record for the secondary market is flawless.
Mark’s large scale paintings are primarily cityscapes of London, Paris and New York and Sydney, he has been recently commissioned to paint Sydney beaches, New York landmark buildings, portraits and nudes. Eclectic yet highly recognizable, no one else in the world is painting with the vigour, intelligence, technical brilliance, emotion and spirituality that Mark is producing. Paying homage to Brett Whiteley and with a style evocative of Jackson Pollock, Mark’s style - large, brash, pop, beautiful - takes drip painting, and sensual curves to a new level.
