Mauro K. Fiore is a visual artist, born in Caserta in 1972. He lives and works in Bologna.
He started working as an artist in his youth having studied, at the Studio of Masters Giovanni Tariello, Paolo Ventriglia, the group Potlatch which is a Theatre and Music company.
Mauro knows the great theater director Gennaro Vitiello (Centro Teatro Esse; La Libera Scena Ensemble), who was the first to believe in Mauro’s creative and artistic potential.
He graduated from the State Art Institute of S. Leucio (CE), where particular importance the drawing lessons of Bruno Donzelli for his training. He then attended the degree course in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the Second University of Naples. In 2009 he met art
gallery owner Antonio Rossi (Galleria Studio Legale), who followed his artistic activity and encouraged him to break into new ground with his research.
Starting in 2013, Mauro K. Fiore moved his research beyond the initial phase of pictorial experimentation, in the direction of a "leakage" from the painting, of a new spatiality. He begins to introduce in his works "poor" materials (cardboard, wood, natural elements "found"), cuttings, fabrics, papers, extra - artistic objects that enter into a dialectical relationship with the graphic and pictorial signs.
Over the years, he has made solo exhibitions and exhibited his works in various collective exhibitions, both in public and private spaces.
Since 2014 he has been collaborating with Tiziana De Tora (Artstudio '93; TANA) in Naples and with the Ufofabrik Art Gallery in Moena (TN),
which involves him in various contemporary art fairs in Italy and abroad (Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Slovenia, Lithuania).
In 2016 he participated in the exhibition ALTERA- ZIONI, paradoxes, mutations, visions at Spazio SENSI - creative languages, Pompeii, curated by Franco Cipriano.
Since 2020 his research has deepened the theme of the relationship between theater and visual arts.
In 2021 he takes part in the project "The Architecture of the Rainbow" conceived by Massimo Sgroi: a survey of 100 artists from Campania at the Mac3, Museum of Contemporary Art in Caserta.
In his most recent works, Mauro K. Fiore chooses paper as a support, which becomes a “fragment” and “mirror” in which the images are presented in a fluid and delicate way, appearing only for a moment on the threshold, as if held by the surface, enough to manifest their charge of meanings. In the field of centrifugal forces of these flux works, of the threshold, even the geometric element seems to assume an alienating dimension. The picture, the surface on which the images flow, is an observatory of the time of existence, a window on the past and present history, which can only manifest itself by fragments.
