Biography

The MACA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Acri) is a space devoted to contemporary art born in June of 2006. The Sanseverino-Falcone Palace, base of the museum, hosts, in eleven of its thrity rooms, a collection of more than two-hundred works by artist and glass maestro Silvio Vigliaturo, to whom the museum is dedicated. The remaining rooms, the inner courtyard and the evocative "Sala delle Colonne" host many important events and contemporary art exhibitions. In 2010, the museum dedicated a vast retrospective to artist Joel Stein, father of the Kinetic Art movement. 2011 will see the MACA devote its space to two important names of the art panorama: Fritz Baumgartner and Mimmo Paladino.
