Biography

Mattia Baldi was born in 1983 in Rome, Italy after the Traditional Artistic High School he took the
Academy of Fine Art (110L/110) in Rome. He won with a painting about the masks of the society the M.Moderni Foundation Prize
(2002). After 2002 during the Academy he discover photography as a tool for extend his personal research.
In 2004 he took a Master degree in Photography at S.R.F. in Rome and since that year he have
accomplished several professional photography works also for A.S.I. the Italian Space Agency.
He have develop also a deep knowledge of computer image manipulation and in 2004 have partecipate at the collective “Think Art and Digital Image’’ in the American Academy in Rome.
In 2007 he move to Beijing, China where he finally found the indispensable kind of reality he needed
for his work. In this 4 years he is involved in study Taoism and Tibetan representations of the
heaven and Gods, currently he have copy, paint and draw a large number of Tibertan Gods from
ancient parchments in temples. He found a convergence between the 80‘s culture where he grown and the old form of east religions Gods figures.

2011: ‘’He-Man Series and the Popular Cultural Archaeology’’ presented
for the first time at the Collective ‘’Divided By The Curtains’’
Times Art Museum, Beijing, China.
