Biography
Singway was born in 1978 and graduated from Fu Jen Catholic University, Department of Philosophy. I grew up in a small but famous town in Taiwan called Yingge, both parents were public servants. I remember when I was little there were quite a few pottery and china plants and studios around where we lived.
As a kid I always enjoyed watching people paint all kinds of pictures on their craft works, and the china, Clay, or beautiful Mosaics not wanted by the plant have all come in handy and become our toys. I always liked to pick up these beautiful crafts as my own collection, and I was immersed in this artistic environment for the first half of my life until I went to college. My mentor, teacher Chen Ching Yao, was my teacher at the elementary school, and he was the first artist that I have come to know of. Teacher Chen spent a lot of his spare time outside the school schedule to bring his students to the world of art creation. I started my own art creation around 20.
With an academic training in philosophy and history, I am trained and used to look at things around me in a different angle, and that explains to a great extent why I also attempted to use various media for my artworks to reflect and project either my attitudes towards life, or simply the pure and beautiful feeling from my heart.
