With painterly brushstrokes, sensuous colors, and sumptuous textures, Amedeo Palazzi captures the breathtaking beauty of the human form. Although clearly informed by the classical tradition, Palazzi’s fresh approach breathes new life into this age-old subject matter. With one finger firmly on the pulse of contemporary culture, Palazzi calls on the techniques and influences of the old masters to bring to life the body beautiful, which the artist describes as his infinite muse. Painted in naturalistic colors against simple, muted backgrounds, the softness of supple skin is revealed by artfully captured light; the subtleties of a fleeting facial expression are expertly recognized and rendered. Each sweep of the brush across the canvas further emphasizes the artist’s deeply felt admiration for the human form and inspires a similar reaction from the viewer.
Award-winning painter Amedeo Palazzi holds a degree in architecture from the Federico II University in Naples. A native of Italy, he has exhibited widely throughout the Vesuvian and Neapolitan regions
