Biography
Bernardino Boronat Mas(Nani Boronat) , Barcelona 1968. He spent his childhood in Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid. After 3 years of training in architecture at the University of Valencia, he joined Fine Arts College in Madrid, finishing his last year at the University of Geshamtchochschule in Kassel thanks to an Erasmus scholarship, graduating in 1995 specializing in “painting”. Before that, in 1992 he obtained another scholarship at the University of Loras in Dubuque, Iowa, under the supervision of the artist Thomas.J.Vitale. In Kassel he works with Jiri Dokoupil and Rob Scholte. Besides, he has collaborated with Antoni Miralda in his Project of creation of “Un museo para la comida”, after a seminar directed by Gianluiggi Colalucci (well-known restorer of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican in Rome) he paints a 110 square meter mural inside San Francisco “The Great” in Madrid.
He works both in painting and sculpture, after a start in realistic painting, he progresses to a materic phase showing an influence by Spanish painters of the50es (Tapies, Millares, Saura,...) leading him to geometric abstraction and pop-informalism, influenced by painters Gordillo and Palazuelo. He is a frequent visitor to the Prado Museum, and he confesses to be a fan and influenced by Spanish baroque painting.
He is currently living in Munich focusing on the creation of his works.
He has been showing his works both individually and collectively in different galleries and museums in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, USA, Germany and Portugal since 1993. He has been short-listed on important international contests and he has collaborated in gardening design with famous architects and landscape painters.
Actually he is working for a new exhibition ,the next November 2010 in The European Patent Office (E.P.O) in Munich, Germany.
