Biography

Beatrice Salvatore is an art critic and an independent curator.

She follows the idea of “curator”, as a social mediator between artwork, artist and public, essential focus, promoting the importance and the need of art as individual and social opportunity of development and change.

She makes researches and writes about artistic-anthropological themes.

She has been corrispondent and Reviews Editor for the contemporary art review Tema Celeste. Currently she is collaborating with Espoarte review.

She has been the curator of various exhibitions writing also the critic text in the catalogues. Recently she has published for the scientific review "La camera blu" an article titled "L'arte è trans", a regard on the relation between genders, view through the contemporary art images. For the University of Salerno, in 2012 she has been published the essay “Frammenti di arte contemporanea: dal corpo erotico al corpo post-umano”, in the volume “Il corpo e il suo doppio" edited by di Maria Rosaria Pelizzari, by Rubbettino,

In January 2010 she has been invited at the V Congress of SIS (Società italiana delle Storiche), discussing a paper about art and violence: "La scena rovesciata. Il racconto della violenza (e del dolore) nell'arte femminile (come restituzione del Sé)", now published.

In 2008 she has found DEA, an association wich promotes didactics and valorisation of art and young contemporary languages.

From 2003 to 2008 she is collaborating on organizing the exhibition "Le Opere e i Giorni" and "Fresco Bosco", by Achille Bonito Oliva curator, held at the Certosa di Padula (SA) for wich she has written some of the texts of the catalogue published by Prearo.

She has tought Contemporary art in degree courses and given lectures at the Università degli Studi di Salerno and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli.

She is now engaged, together with the association Aporema onlus, in analyzing themes about didactic and artistic fruition in social and therapeutic field and about relations between visual art and society.

She lived in London, Milan, and Naples. Now lives in Salerno and works between Salerno and Naples.
