Biography

Roberto Pinetta

Born in Rome, December 5, 1951, where he lives and works.
Studio: via GiovanBattista Magnaghi 61 - 3287818005

Painter, sculptor, graphic designer, he began to paint as a child, continually searching for his own personal expressive language. A long journey, which finally leads him to create works with an unmistakable style, where the shadows do not respect the canonical light source; squares where the sky is only a naturalistic “foothold”, used as a scenographic panel, an element for supporting surfaces where the real becomes appearance; figures with sinuous bodies that in an articulated compositional syntax, break down and then recompose themselves in an "assemblage" of colors, to the point that: "... .. painting so intense in its relationship with life from which it continually feeds and renews, invests the artist in a total way, for which he is inside with all his reactions, sides of character, obsessions, ... an open window on his soul ... .. "(AFRO)
All in a suspended dimension, where the movements stop, crystallized, as from an invisible, disturbing, ironic, photographic shot.

(Costance Gherardi professor of art critic)

"… The stylized figures of Pinetta recall the volumes of Cubism, even the sinuosity of the“ Fauves ”figures. The absences in the face bring us back to De Chirico's metaphysical painting…."

(Nicola Bietolini art critic)

"… In Pinetta's works, everything is suspended: time, in the metaphysical measure, and space, in the perspective without depth…."

(Massimo Locci art critic)

"... His research as an artist is a constant reminder of the" place "of memory, to go back in time, to" rediscover "...."
(Alessandro d’Ercole artistic director of MassenzioArte)

"... Pinetta is Pinetta, his world - although he has, like everyone, rinsed his clothes in the history of painting - is a world totally unto itself, refined and elegant, pop and liberty, cubist and metaphysical, formal and informal, naive and surrealist, indefinable, collectable, unmistakable.
In one word: Pinettiano…. "
(Niky Marcelli, writer, essayist, RAI journalist)

"... All the characters depicted, both women and men, have hands of a different color than the body, usually one red and one black, more rarely blue. This particular feature highlights the gestures of the protagonists also with respect at the background of the works. The gaze of the subjects depicted always looks towards the viewer, even if only one of the two eyes is painted…. "
(Cinzia Folcarelli, gallery owner, art curator)

"... At first glance we learn
immediately that we are faced with
works that offer us a personal reading e
stylized cubist painting e
metaphysics, but if we deepen our knowledge,
we understand that it is a stylization,
enriched by particular attention,
towards the worlds of mass media and
advertising. In this stylization the artist found
his pure, crystalline, gushing source of
inspiration ... "
almost inadvertently, he knows how to turn the
points exclamation marks of media power in
points questions, insinuating, with refinement
of those who avoid excess as well as the defect,
the healthy instrument of doubt ... "

(Maurizio Di Palma, writer, essayist)

"… Sophisticated and original, the Pinetta
constitutes a unicum in the Italian artistic
panorama. Almost its peculiarity screeches.
It seems to be from Paris or from
New York, with his original style, which he
originates from from surrealist pop.
The colors of him solved, the sharp outlines,
the rarefied and clean atmospheres
sometimes they seem to conflict with important
theme and not always dreamlike treated by the
artist. Its kaleidoscope stands out in via Margutta
three-dimensional, hypnotic and important,
a series of visual stories valid in
three directions" ...
(Dr. Francesca Romana Fragale)
