Biography

Linda’s paintings are engaged with the materiality of paint and the destabilisation of pictorial space. Drawing inspiration from sacred characters and mythological worlds as well as contemporary fiction and film, she attempts to place lost figures in otherwordly, liminal spaces; dreamscapes where clear borders are dissolved and bodies leave their material existence. Her paintings resist fixed meaning as a result of working intuitively and letting narratives develop subconsciously. Linda regards her paintings as personal explorations of ‘fictional’ memories and dreams where underlying feelings of longing and loss, fear and fascination, take shape.
