Biography
Marynka Ostriv’s painting style reflects a fusion of ancestral Chinese techniques with modern expressive methods.
Adopting a Taoist philosophy as a spiritual and cultural basis, she chooses among the styles and genres most suited to her present artistic vision. In her work she incorporates calligraphy and chinese ink, seeing them as the prime art forms of the ancient world.
Ostriv works daily at her art studio in Fresnes, a suburb of Paris, and takes part in collective exhibitions and annual international salons like the “Salon d'Automne” a long-standing, international Fine Arts exhibition in Paris or « Art en Capital », Salon des Artistes Français at the Grand Palais. Ostriv often participates in art performances based on expressive and lyrical calligraphic styles.
Throughout 2010 her work is being shown in the “Galerie Everarts” 8, rue d'Argenson 75008 Paris.
Her work has been purchased for numerous private collections around the world, including Canada, France, Denmark, Russia and Ukraine.
She is a member of the “Maison des Artistes”
et A.I.A.P./C.N.F.A.P.- “International Association of Plastic Arts” – UNESCO
and a member of French National Society of Fine Arts.
