Biography
Chris Twomey works in series using a variety of mediums – film, photography, painting, sculpture and – installation, which can incorporate all these elements. Origins and identity are the themes that drive the imagery of Twomey’s work and are influenced by scientific, psychological or conceptual ideas that impact Twomey’s understanding of these themes. Graduating from Pratt Institute with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, (New Forms) Twomey received a CAPS grant, Ford Grant, and Experimental TV award. 10 years of working in film, winning industry awards and an American Film Institute Directing Internship, gave Twomey extensive experience in documentary and feature film making. This background is reflected in Twomey’s sensibility as an artist, where subject matter, sound, time-based mediums and montage-like visuals are consistently utilized.
