Biography

Heather Lewis is a British visual artist, born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, currently living and working in the USA. She obtained her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Dundee, Scotland. Lewis' work has most recently been shown at the Hunter College/Times Square Gallery, New York; and Eyedrum Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia. Her work is in private, public and corporate collections including Art in Hospitals in Edinburgh, Scotland; and Chevron UK Limited, in London. She explores the role of mechanical, deskilled process in creative practice and is currently looking at expanded definitions of drawing. Her work involves various materials and processes including light, existing objects, cast iron brake grindings, stenciling and gravity.
