Biography
Małgorzata Maćkowiak - She was born in Cracow and has lived there her entire life. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where she obtained her diploma in painting (cum laude) under the tutelage of professor Jan Szancenbach. She has received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
She creates paintings, sculptures, drawings, illustrations for adults and children and artistic dolls.
She has taken part in nearly 100 group exhibitions in Poland, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Slovenia, Ukraine, USA and Great Britain.
She has also taken part in the exhibitions organised by ZPAP, as well as those showing the results of work during many artistic workshops in Poland, Moldavia, Ukraine, Lithuania or Hungary.
She is the author of several solo exhibitions in Poland, e.g. in Cracow, Warsaw, Kazimierz nad Wisłą, Zakopane, Rybnik, Jastrzębie Zdrój, Bielsko Biała, Katowice, Kielce, Nowa Sól and abroad, e.g. in Kiev or in London (2017).
She has also completed several site-specific works in city parks in Poland, the Czech Republic and in Ukraine.
In 2008 she was a resident in the international art project "Meeting in Zdonov."
In 2012 she represented Poland in the international project "Artcamp 2012" in Toyama, Japan as well as in the project "Art Residency" in Takaoka in Japan, in 2015.
Her works are to be found in numerous private collections in Poland and abroad.
