Biography
Through perturbing dialectics and linguistic contaminations, such as photography, graphics, cartoons, writing and gestuality extremized up to become performance, the new image painting may also become mystic expression. At the same time, it may rielaborate (as it happens among contemporary artists in Catania) mythical essences and unreal figures (unreal even in their apparent reality) emerging, almost appearing, in the draft, the narrative construction of the painting.
The new image painting guidelines are also those of the young Sicilian artist’s work and path: “the painter of terrestrial transits” makes coincide the artistic time with his own private reflection and meditation time. Its poetics is “constructed” and amplified by the “double” dialectics: “the painting into the painting”, as well as the variable diptych and triptych and the duplicity of significations, the latter becoming themselves impalpable environments.
