Biography

I am a painter from London, England, born 1974. I would describe my current work as representational, with Surrealist, Expressionist, Impressionist, Pop, cinematic and photographic influences. I paint in oil on canvas. I often apply paint with a pallet knife, which gives me the thick textures and rougher feel I am sometimes looking for.

The subject for many of my paintings is the continuing aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster. I am interested in trying to convey the atmosphere of decay, abnormality, strange beauty and threat.

I have had a painting accepted for this year's Threadneedle Prize. I also recently had a painting shown as part of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists' Imaginitive Portraits Exhibition and was shortlisted for last year's Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
