Biography
QUADRURE by MONICA PENNAZZI
Monica Pennazzi’s works manifest the influence of the most significant artistic movements which characterised the 20th century art and culture. Her materials of choice are those provided by the environment of her everyday life and those met during her frequent travels abroad. Her research is conducted within the abstract language, with works that do not concede anything to the figurative art in the traditional sense. Her pictures do not belong to common visual experiences and their contents are expressed in a free composition of lines, shapes and colours.
Her artistic career has been growing and developing over time, but always maintaining a particular attention to the research on the expressive qualities of the matter, an aspect which likens her to the Art Informel artists. Up to the present she has been interested in developing lightness, exactness in details and visibility of the works, or rather the harmonious presence in the space of the artwork and, at the same time, its invisibility.
