Biography
I am a Danish artist that currently lives in London. My main media is painting, and my inspiration especially comes from the connecting places between man and nature. I am sailing a lot, and the boat and the sails are motives I love to use.. I find this thin shell that separates us from the elements intriguing and I often play on the ambiguity of being inside and outside, physically and psychologically.
For my research I use both my own experiences: Memories, daydreams, photos, logbooks, found objects-and I make use of the experiences of other people, by interviewing them and find the essence of their story.
I believe that all space that surrounds you will have an influence on you, and by leaving the space of your usual sensibilities, I think you always enter into a kind of communication, which can be very innovating and changing for our nature.
In my paintings you often meet the inside and the intimate as a kind of hide and relief from the uncontrolled outside and unknown– a place where you can arrange and dream. It’s here, in the cabin or the tent, in the night, when all is quiet, that you have the opportunity to absorb new impressions and gets your identity altered.
