Biography
Marialuisa Cortesi was born in Italy in 1977. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna where she encountered Photography. She has worked in fashion as a visual merchandiser developing at the same time photographic research. In September 2010 she exhibited a series of photographs themed ‘Trees’ realized with the film of handled polaroids at the biannual of young Italians of Bibbiena. In July 2009 three shots of naturalistic subject became part of the photographic heritage of MUSINF of Senigallia. In September 2009 and November 2010 she displayed her work in collective exhibitions in the Ducal Palace of Senigallia as part of the regional project “giovani ricercatori di senso”. In November 2011 she was chosen and included in the Leica Lab 24x36 competition which ended in March 2012 with the participation at the stand of Leica at the Photoshow of Roma. In march2013 she had a solo exhibition at the “spazio foyer TGT” in Forlì. On september 2014 exhibited pictures in collective project called “Coast to Coast” for at SIFEST photofestival. She is currently working as a teacher and freelance photographer specializing in reportage and storytelling.
