Biography

“My interdisciplinary work encompasses multiple media and is inspired by both the natural world and movement. The fluidity of drawing lends itself to an accurate recording of the movement of bodies in performance. This vital examination of a transient moment is an intimate carnal dialogue, urgent and demanding.
Whilst I repeatedly gravitate to the genre of portraiture in my drawings, my large-scale paintings fuse the figurative and the abstract and are usually the result of long-term research and complex material processes. Using a mix of acrylic paints, metals and various natural materials, my paintings are a direct physical and emotional response to the world that surrounds me.”
