Biography
Paolo Figar works give origin to a new form of celebrating sculpture without celebrating, to a new oratory sculptur without oratory, to a new rhetorical sculpure without being rhetoric.
The iconography models the artist gathers come from different sources and epochs. His works cover, as far as shape is concerned, the whole of the sculpture belonging to the "renowned men": there is the bust, the half length bust, and the whole figure.
Bat is works, which are made of local or rare essence, immediately declare their anti-rhetorical and anti-celebrating substance.
At the time in which they seem to introduce themselves as "monuments for future memory" they let as understand that they intend underlinig the most fragile, ephemeral, and transitory aspects of humane nature. Figar is thus creathing, through the use of wood, the iconography of our epoch, the gallery of the conscious and unconscious protagonists of our days.
