Biography
Nicoletta Casali after a beginning with painting, she soon approached black and white photography, concentrating on the theme of the passing of time in places full of past and stories: abandoned factories, old deserted buildings and anonymous and isolated edifices.
Her research brought her then to a photography of bright and contrastated colors which also tells of desolated places where the only precence is of evanescent female figures whose movements in space seem to trace emptiness and solitude.
Also in the installations and the works where she goes back to painting, central are the sense of a waiting which seems doomed to be endless and the attempt to capture that suspended moment loaded with tension toward an action that will never take place.
