Biography

My work examines both the visible and invisible interconnections by providing a visual interpretation of my fascination with the human social structure and the similarities among both organic and inorganic systems of information. For example, at the microscopic cellar level cells transport information to each other that informs the cell how to grow and function. Most of the time, these cells then go on to become part of a larger system such as the lymph or nervous system while at other times becoming corrupted and pathological in nature. Similarly, the internet is another system that operates for the purpose of transmitting information. Like the cellular counterpart, computers can also be infected with viral "growths". Living in an urban area, I am fascinated with the division of neighborhoods that exhibit similar tendencies to both the digital and biological systems we rely upon. Daisy Chain represents the interconnections between all three systems as the title refers to an IT term whereby information is transmitted. The final work will be exhibited at the former site of Martin Luther King Jr.'s brief home in Chicago, IL during his protest regarding fair housing.
