Biography

The complex and multifaceted artist absorbed the cultural humus of the 1960s
although she has always treated it in a highly personal way, careful of her own
expressive independence.
The polyester sculptures from the early1970s, the photographs, performances,
books, and paintings all reveal, as a constant in her career, the interpenetration of
experimental research and critical reflection; the denial of the abstract and idealistic
concept of art finds in History and in Contemporaneity the meaning of art’s own
making. Central to her artistic expression is the need for a critical relationship to
contemporaneity, explored in its most problematic and contradictory aspects.
