Biography
Born in Erice, Trapani (Italy) in 1969 the 05th of August, after the school of Applied Arts in Mazara del Vallo he studies as painter at the “Accademia di Belle Arti” in Florence. As beginner he is involved in a sort of paintings from a surrealistic and metaphysical point of view, then from an onirical, transfiguring and magician dimension full of mediterranean atmosphere.
At the beginning of nineties he works looking at the Dadaistic research and the use of heterogeneous objects and materials. So he starts a study on the installations where he joins/melts old furniture, ladders, empty frames and toys with natural elements like water, sand, argil or fire which all resend to childhood memories and true life ancestral archetypes. When he comes back to Sicily or at his discover of Sardinia, his long and solitary walks on the mediterranean seaside take him back again to look for and reuse those waste materials abandoned everywhere from mankind. Now he is interested in pictures for childhood and has just taken part at some open competitions obtaining good results. At the moment he lives and works in Sardinia, as a teacher of “Arte e Immagine” in several schools of Oristano.
