Biography

I call myself a "photoimpressionistic" artist, because the paintings and digital artworks are created with colourful spots and lines. If the viewer sees them from a distance they seem to be similar to photos.
I want to track the reality behind the surface to understand the inside of reality.
My sujets are portraits of friends, this also includes pictures of celebrities, animals and landscapes.
I combine these motives sometimes with known scenarios of art history.
The development process of an image can take a long time of one week for several months to several years. This allows me to put spontaneous ideas into the picture during the painting process. This painting inscribed slowness allows me to confront me in the course of the development process with specific fears, longings and hopes and reflect this in the features.
