Biography

Danielle de Picciotto, born in the US, currently residing in Berlin, Germany, has been working as an interdisciplinary artist since 1990 in the fields of painting, drawing, music, film and video productions. Besides working in oil, ink, acylic and with wood she has dealt with stop motion technics, graphic paperwork and experimental music styles.
Her main theme within all of these different worlds lies in the pursuit of contradiction,
breaking boundries, proving the hidden connection of opposites –questioning rules and regulations. Interested in finding different forms of presenting her work Danielle de Picciotto enjoys performing her visuals live –projecting them as stage settings for performances and theater plays –cooperating with musicians like Alexander Hacke or the Tiger Lillies, besides exhibiting in galleries.
Danielle de Picciotto has shown her work internationally, presented by the Goethe Institute in Hong Kong, Japan, Sarajevo, Milan, Rom, Naples and is currently working on an art movie for the Foreign Ministry of Germany and is presented in the movie “In Berlin” by legendary Michael Ballhaus as an especially innovative artist in Berlin.
