Biography
I try and keep things simple and work from a memory of an experience - eg in my piece Rain Rain Rain - I remember - when looking out of the window one grey, wet day - I noticed the colours and sounds changed from minute to minute - from second to second - but the view remained the same - It reminded me of this life - constantly changing and yet is seems to look the same. I find this fascinating .
Although an experience, of ‘seeing’ something for the first time, can be deep or moving - to store it and work with it over a period of time is a contradiction of terms and to maintain the momentum can be difficult. But, as a painter this is my way of interpreting or recording and making sense of that experience. Because, sometimes, in that ‘moment’ I can feel the deepest hugest feelings which have no words.
