Biography

Stefano Camaiti made his debut in the world of pictorial art at an early age, so much so that his passion for drawing and painting led him to meet in his transfer to Sansepolcro, in 1971 the gallery owner Gino Tarducci who introduced him to the direct knowledge of the works of great artists (De Chirico, Severini, Guttuso, Sughi, etc.) and will give him the opportunity to meet some who will tie him in an indissoluble way and strongly fond of the exercise of the figurative arts.

At the same time in those years Camaiti made a fruitful friendship founded also on a community of professional interests, with the artist Franco Alessandrini, who allowed him to deepen pictorial and graphic techniques.

He graduated at the Sansepolcro State Institute of Art in the metals section and attended courses in graphics and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino.
Autonomous and quite shy, at twenty, through the knowledge and frequentation of the "La Badia Restoration Study" in Anghiari, of the great Agostino Galeotti, he realizes an extraordinary portfolio of five major etchings (apocalyptic in character) ) that will take him over the years to acquire a great experience of manual techniques and techniques in the field of graphic art. The same series of recordings, in those years, late '70, will be presented by the "International Center for Graphic Design of Venice" in an important traveling exhibition in Forlì, along with other famous artists for decades, with a presence for that occasion of the Portugal with its major engravers.
