Biography

Francesca Marina Costa

I was born in 1981 in Milan and i've been told i was painting even before starting to walk. Painting is a part of my life I can't live without. I graduated as illustrator at Milan's "Scuola del Fumetto" and in visual merchandising at Milan's CFTA. I'm working as illustrator since 2005 for children books, tabletop and roleplay games. In 2010 i founded my own publishing house, Mini G4m3s Studio, a small reality in the world of cultural promotion and role-playing games, where i currently work as art director an author. Thanks to Mini G4m3s Studio I had the chance to work with successfull authors such as Beniamino Sidoti, ando also being involved in projects financed by the European Community. I have always considered education through books and games extremely important, expecially in a world made of television, internet and videogames, and being part of this makes me quite proud of myself. Since 2010 i had many chances to show my works to an audience: in 2010, at "Fondazione Benetton Palazzo Bomben" in Treviso, during the Treviso Comics Book Festival; in 2011 at "Centro culturale Candini" in Mestre during the exhibition "Matite in Viaggio"; in 2012, in Este, during the fair "Este in Gioco"; in 2015 with "Spazio Pardes" during the group show "Arte Cibo per la Mente"; in 2017, in Motta di Livenza, during the group show "ARTelier Collage - Collettiva d'Arte". Since 2014 i am also working with the association "Nipponbashi" as art director for the fair "Nipponbashi d'Estate", and released with them my personal exhibitions "Di Spiriti e d'Inverno" in 2014, "Omagatoki" in 2015, "La percezione dell'iki" in 2016. This last exhibition was also showed during the famous festival Lucca Comics & Games 2016. Having the chance to work to a series of paintings rather than on a single one is anextremely inspiring, and I'm already working on two more projects like those: the first one is a serie on carps, including the piece you can see in the MAD GALLERY; the second one is about "Madama Butterfly", the famous Puccini Opera.
