in Search of an Author

Dear Artist, LaborART is organizing a group exhibition focusing on the characters narrated Spoon River Anthology . The exhibition is open to all artists working in painting , sculpture, photography, graphic design , digital and collage .
The Spoon River Anthology is a collection of poems that the American poet Edgar Lee Masters (1868-1950) published between 1914 and 1915 in the Mirror of St. Louis. Each poem tells, in the form of an epitaph , the life of one of the people buried in the cemetery of a small village in the fictional small town America . In 1971 Fabrizio De André released the album " Not the money, not love nor the sky" , freely adapted by the anthology of Spoon River.
De André chose nine of the 244 poems and turned them into as many songs.
Each artist will illustrate a character or an episode by the anthology of Spoon River.
You can participate in the project with more works . During the vernissage will be involved
a theater company who will recite poems relating to the various works exhibited :
Literature and Art together.
The Exhibition will be held in the premises of the Association via Leponzi , 27/29 Piedimulera in the province of Verbania , between Monte Rosa and the lakes ( Maggiore, Orta, Mergozzo ) .
The works without glass must not exceed the dimensions of 80x80 and shall be provided with well-balanced central hanger .
