South American art is famous for its politically and socially critical artists. One of the most important

projects of this year's festival has emerged under the leadership of curator Antonio Arevalo. Probably

one of the most important representatives of performance art of the 21st century Regina Jose

Galindo, winner of the Golden Lion at the 51st Venice Biennale, will present her new performance for

the first time in Europe. Often rewarded Chilean artist Ivan Navarro is presenting one of his recent

light installations, Ronald Moran and Marlon de Azambuja will prepare a spatial installation, Maria

Rosa Jijon, Felipe Aguila, and Gianfranco Foschino will create new artistic projects during their

residence in Ptuj. The exhibition entitled Latin America between Identity and Mask will also feature

works by Dario Escobar, Luis Gonzalez Palma, David Perez Karmadavis, Priscila Monge, Ishmael

Randall Weeks, and Enrique Zamudio.
