A Sea Only and the Word

100 poets from the world in Rome in the era of new wars crossing the Mediterranean the poetic word as a chance to recognize themselves in a single humanity Join the song
A Solo Sea and the Word is an international event that through poetry gives voice to women and men of the world, protagonists with their verses from April 28 to May 3, 2017 to the Casa dell'Architettura Acquario Romano and open spaces, streets and libraries, of the city.
The project was born following the participation of the Grecam Association, founded by Uruguayan writer and psychotherapist Norberto Silva Itza, representing Italy, at the 20th International Festival of Havana's Poetry in Cuba in May 2016.
On that occasion, starting with the appeal of the Malaysian poet and Syrian journalist Malak Sahioni Soufi, to stop the violence on refugees through the power of poetry, the idea of throwing a bridge made of words between Latin America, Europe and the rest of the world.
The Grecam association has raised the challenge of Cuba by relaunching in Italy the demand of poets to keep alive the exchange beyond distances and boundaries. 140 famous poets from all over the world, famous and unknown, whose verses have been collected in two different Anthologies - One Sea and One Word, a collection of Latin American poets published in Italian and Spanish by Norberto Silva Itza and Salt Bars, dedicated to Mediterranean refugees, curated by Malak Sahioni Soufi.
To these have been added the collection of poems 100 poets for peace by Veronica Bianchi, poetess and Uruguayan journalist.
Only one sea and the word is an extraordinary kermesse produced from the bottom, which crosses
Rome with Reading of poems drawn from the three Anthologies, installations, theater and dance performances, videos, music and testimonies of a large number of artists and authors coming from around the world.
During the Roman days, the window for life will be presented, which collects pictorial, graphic and plastic works by national and international artists on the theme of refugees by Malak Sahioni Soufi. Some of the works will be exhibited at the Roman Aquarium.

In Rome, six days of initiatives with poets and artists of different nationalities open to citizenship and the many foreigners present on the territory inside an imaginary square crossed by a great boat.

Dance performances and words by Cuban choreographer Laura Domingo Agüero, poetry readings in the mother tongue of poets (Arabic, Spanish, English, Portuguese) with live translation, testimonies of representatives of the Institutions and of social realities.
Will be present the Vice Mayor Luca Bergamo, the President of the House of Architecture Alfonso Giancotti and the Superintendent Capitoline of Cultural Heritage Claudio Parisi Presicce.
