Dall'Angelica to Temple- By Isabella de Stefano and Shara Wasserman-Gallery of Art, Temple University Rome
Exhibitions, Italy, Roma, 13 September 2016
On the occasion of the competition Besides books: the art of this meets the books of the past, conceived and organized by the Angelica Library dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art, the Gallery of Art at Temple University Rome presents Dall'Angelica at Temple.

The competition Besides books: the art of this meets the books of the past has been sponsored by the Angelica Library to activate the dialogue between old books and new generations of artists, with the aim of stimulating and push contemporary art in questions about the past, even the most remote and unknown. Through the immediate language of contemporary art, each participant was asked to interpret the suggestions and emotions that the ancient books and the Biblioteca Angelica suggest. The selection of participants saw three winners for five artistic categories (painting, sculpture, engraving, photography, installation), in an exhibition held at the Biblioteca Angelica in July.

The great success of the initiative and the great participation of many artists in the contest has encouraged a further partnership with Temple University Rome. It is considered the importance of making a second selection, here staged in the Gallery of Art at Temple University Rome.

The curators have selected 15 artists in the same five categories in this art exhibition entitled Dall'Angelica the Temple, with the inauguration Tuesday, September 13, from 19 hours.

The artists are: Letizia Ardillo, Lorenzo Attolini, Sharon Caratelli, Daniel Clark, Florencia Costa, Emiliozzi Giordano, Lorenzo Fantastichini, Gabriel Feld, Antonella Fiorillo, Simone Giampà, Guido Orsini, Maurizio Perissinotto, Lydia Predominato, Anna Romanello, Barbara Salvucci.
