DAVIDE CIARAMELLA presents UNKNOWN FIGURES
The need for a mosaic identity to get lost and found
Friday, June 8, at 18:30, at the art gallery Salvatore Serio, in Via Oberdan 8 in Naples, near Piazza Carità, will be inaugurated the personal exhibition of Davide Ciaramella, young Neapolitan artist, curated by Serena Calò .
The artist develops his reflection on the problem of loss of identity and on the absence of a synthesis in the fragmentation of this, made by contemporary society, through an existential filter, favoring mainly a graphic and pictorial pictorial language.
The creation of aesthetic experiences that shape shareable emotional states, the reflection on the loss of identity, the fragmentation of the self image and the spasmodic research for the recovery of a unity of the person, are some of the points on which the his research.
Unknown figures is an investigation that unfolds through a path that starts from a graphic sign thought. De-contextualized from any spatial and temporal reference, these works convey a sense of suspension that projects the user into a dimension of listening and self-reflection.
The series of "negatives" produced by Davide Ciaramella, figures shaped by the light that emerge from the darkness or from the depth of one's self, plunge us into a dimension of comfort and at the same time of questioning, placing us in a precognitive state of total inner suspension.
Through an elaboration of the concept of the unfinished, the artist leaves the characterization of the faces to the user who is so actively invited to confront the work and to complete it by imagining a story.
It will be possible to visit the exhibition until 18 June 2018.
Biography
Davide Ciaramella was born in 1991 in Naples, where he studied with Rosaria Matarese in the early years of artistic training. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts, where he met Rino Squillante, with whom he graduated at the 1st and 2nd level in Painting. Co-founder in 2017 together with the artist Vittorio Valiante of Picart lab, factory of young talents in the field of drawing and painting, at Palazzo Venezia in Naples. He exhibited in several collective shows including Imago Mundi - Per Luciano Benetton in 2016, curated by Chiara Pirozzi, Museo MADRE, Naples. Finalist for the Nocivelli Award in Brescia. In 2012 he won the Contemporary Art Competition at the La Saletta art gallery in Garbagnate Milanese (Mi) and obtained a personal exhibition. In 2014 he is, with a personal exhibition, at the Pinacoteca d'Arte Moderna Le Porte, in Naples.
