5 Mediations Biennale Poznań – FUNDAMENTAL 2016

More than 2,400 years ago, Democritus confirmed:
Really there are only atoms and the void.

Mediations Biennale in Poznan entitled Fundametal. It refers to the question of the fundamental values essential to human kind, not necessarily the same for the various cultures that are part of our global society.

Under the common concepts such as freedom, dignity, family values, the biennial conceals different value systems, cultural references, or religious beliefs that have been part of our centuries-old tradition. One of the most important aspects is the language – a unique narrative of concepts in which our shapes, thoughts, the environment, and or civilization exists.

Art is a nonverbal plane of global and inter cultural communication and expression, and at the same time creates a beautiful artistic narrative.

The visual language through Mediations Biennale exhibitions will share critical contemporary issues of our time. This will also stand up for the human dignity and express personal freedoms through protesting against the ideology of violence, brutalisation, devastation and manipulation.

Other works will search for universal beauty, profound sensitivity, and the search for dialogue, discovering common human values. Significant values will appear in the dialogue of contemporary art with diverse places marked by history and reflection such as the castle of Emperor Wilhelm II, Hitler’s office, the Jesuits Monastery, as well as art in the collections of the National Museum and the Archdiocese Museum in Poznan.

Our body is made up of 4000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 atoms. We are all one fragment of reality. Art is underrated medium reaching into what is beyond the verbal. Art accompanied by intuition, by which the image goes back to inaccessible resources of knowledge, for what is fundamental.
