Feel the travel is an exhibition that wants to explicate the concept of living the journey as emotion through the image, thanks to production of the artists live urbanization or the evasion through new realities.
Traveling is a myth of our times, a way to get in touch with reality and ourselves, but also a consumer product, a plate ready cooked with emotions prepackaged.
The exhibition wants to make a clean sweep of consumerism and to critique it, to think and talk about the travel as if it is always a new experience, without prejudices, fashions, attitudes, and cultural differences.
To get the journey back to be an authentic and unique experience, you must go through your body, listen to the messages, decipher the changes, learn to expose the stresses that comes from the outside without being afraid. Then We rediscover the meaning and corporeality; the pleasure of sweating, walking, be dazzled by the sun or frightened by the night
listening to their sounds feeling emotions and inner discoveries.
The trip is movement, not only of the body, even the perception, is a constant reinventing of our thoughts and of our senses in front of scenery and new faces or rediscover what we see usually under a new guise and with new perception and discovery in look and not only the habit of seeing.
It is not true that travels occur in the head, that you can travel staying at home, that you can make beautiful travels with your mind. No, it’s not true. The travel comes in the head, it matures, but there needs to absorb the sap through the senses,to touch, to hear, to smell, to taste, to look, to induce observation.
The real journey makes you stand in front of intoxicant hot and cold loads of forgetfulness, suffering prying winds, enjoy of the first warmth of an alba.
It was the theme of development, during different historical periods and in the many artistic movements in which they have developed, you cannot locate a specific period during which the artist has dealt exclusively the theme of travel.
Although it may notice an evolution of the concept of this reality, simultaneously with a change in vision and human life itself that can be found also in literary texts. Through the ages it moves from the strictly figurative representation of the vehicles, places and characters, to the depiction of a travel less tied to the material but more projected towards inner discovery. The intention of the exhibition is to offer, thanks to the production of painters, sculptors, photographers, video artists, the theme of travel escorted by the senses that it transmits, with the interior and tangible image that flow through it.
