Ilaria Caputo’s new solo show, entitled “The Garden - the Palpable Soul of Flowers”, is going to be opened at the premises of Studios (Via Notarbartolo 36 - Palermo), on Thursday November 24 at 7 p.m. The show is curated and organized by Graziella Bellone.
This exhibition gathers 18 recent works. Their subject are mainly flowers. With fine craftsmanship, the Artist uses and mixes different effects and techniques, such as oil and acrylic paints, graphite, plexiglas and mirrored surfaces. She also puts side by side flat and shaded colors, and combines outlined and strictly realistic shapes to indefinite spots.
The colors she utilizes in her paintings are often bright. They sometimes stand out against transparent or ethereal backgrounds. This use of colors, materials and media results in silky iconographies, that bewitch and induce the viewer to enjoy them fully, even only to appreciate their purely aesthetic aspects.
