Bicycle Wheels–Homage to Duchamp It will be inaugurated on August 25th by movimentocentrale bikecafe’s event in 19 via dei Mergulensi.

"Bicycle Wheels- Homage to Duchamp" It is a project which involves the installation of artworks by 39 contemporary artists and it relates to the theme of Dadaism and Duchamp's ready-made.
In fact, in 2016, it marks the centenary of the birth of the Dada movement of which Duchamp was one of the leaders. From August 26 until September 25, in the enchanting scenery of the evocative Ortigia you can admire " en plein air " artworks , installations , posters , sculptures , videos , etc. For the entire duration of the event we also planned various events dedicated to music, performance in an original combination of food and art.
The project is the most important cultural event within the "Canoe Polo World Championship" to be held in Ortigia from 28 August to 4 September.
The project is curated by Claudio Cavallaro and Salvatore Mauro, under the supervision of Francesco Piazza, and Emanuele Di Quattro graphic design. It relies on the sponsorship of City of Syracuse and the Sicilian Region Department of Tourism and Entertainment. The exhibition will end at the Impact Hub Ortigia on the 25th September.
For the event we involved nationally and internationally renowned artists to represent the most inspiring examples of the multiplicity of languages related to contemporary art:

(25/08 – 25/09) DJ sets, screenings, themed performances, experimental music concerts, guided tours of the exhibition by bike, dadacene™ curated by artists, cooks, chef, and the slow-food lovers; two performances of Salvatore Mauro and Paolo Roberto D'Alia: the first will ironically take its name by one of the artist's pseudonym Marcel Duchamp “Sélavy”, the second one is entitled “meditazione strutturale della sfera solidificata”. The two performances will be itinerant and will be updated on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/artealmovimento
