Venezia misteriosa is the 7th edition of an international collective exhibition of contemporary art and is a part of the “Veneto Spettacoli di Mistero” project, during which more than 200 events are organized by the Veneto Region.
The event will be held from October 30 to November 22nd.
The project is born by the cooperation between the art director Alberto Toso Fei and the curator Andrea Chinellato, and takes place in the palazzo Ca’ Zanardi and, for the first year, in the brand new place Venice Art House.
The target is to explore the theme of the mystery in all of its shapes, with a particular attention on the mysterious imaginary that Venice inspires, as for example, in the autumn, when the fog envelops the city and secret views appear.
Over the years, Venezia Misteriosa has become a reference in Venice, with the numerous participation of many international artists.
To take part in the selection, send your submission form to arthousevenice@gmail.com until the 15th of October.
There is no limit in the number of works you can send.
It is requested a participation fee for the exhibitions places’ management, a catalogue creation and Veneto Region’s press releases.
For the very first time a contest will take place, in which the best works in painting, photography and video production will be rewarded. The fundamental evaluation basis for the selection will be the quality, the research, the skill to master the material and the originality. The award consists in the winners’ exhibition of each category in the brand new space Venice Art House.

The Palazzo Cà Zanardi is a residential palace dating back to the 16th century which, over the centuries, has been added on to by various noble venetian families and is one of the most evocative and beautiful palaces in the city of Venice.
The Palazzo is the ideal location for art exhibitions, gala dinners, ceremonies, cocktails, masquerade balls, musical events with small orchestras as well as providing a special place to hold one’s business meetings or conferences. Facebook
Venice Art House is the new laboratory and exhibition place in Venice for contemporary art, located in Cannaregio between Strada Nuova and the famous Fondamenta della Misericordia, one of the places where young Venitians meet. The exhibition area was once a storehouse, before being lately restored, and now is ready to hold performances, projections and laboratories in addition to its common use as an exhibition art space.
