After the success of the exhibition " The revival of Flora ," Luigi De Giovanni and back from Cannes where he participated with the Galleria Mentana ( September 26 to 29 ) to the contemporary art fair " Artistes Du Monde Exposition d'Art Contemporain "at the Salons du port , with its paintings will be featured in a new exhibition in Brindisi .
On the occasion of the Day of Contemporary Art , organized by Hammock , the artist will be at the Bastion of specchiese Porta Napoli (Port Mesa ) , Via Cristoforo Colombo, October 4 to 14 with the exhibition " Dialogue with Nature - beyond the 16/9 " .
The vernissage , Friday, October 4th at 19.00 , after the greetings , attended by Claudio Delli Santi director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce , Rita Fasano artistic director of " Wings of Mirna ," Antonietta Fulvio director responsible for "Art and Places ," and . The Green Ray .
A succession of events that go to embed itself in a location where you can trace a common thread , the encounter and dialogue with nature and the landscape , always themes dear to the artist who lives between Cagliari and Mirror (Lecce ) .
" For him, painting is an ancestral rite - says the presentation of Antonietta Fulvio - and with the same sacredness with which the ancient priests went to the temple at dawn when we imagine it embraces canvases and brushes to head in a particular place , because - as he himself says - he discovered the corners - Mirror of her , as of Salento and Sardinia - where he found the perfect framing to transfer to the pictorial space . A space that can multiply in square units , in rectangular canvases that come close to the size of that sixteen ninths through which humanity of the third millennium, we look at the reality . A fictitious reality , because processing of bits of pixels that make us prisoners . "
An exhibition that is above all an invitation to look beyond and within ourselves.
Luigi De Giovanni, born in his own Atelier Mirror where he lives and works between Salento and Cagliari. He graduated from the Art Institute of Poggiardo in 1969 , in 1974 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome . In 1973 with the Master Avanessian dell'imprimitura began studying the paintings and lands . In 1974 he perfected the technique of oil painting . In 1980 experiments with egg tempera ; realizes some works with a single thread " social climbing ." In 1988 experiences mixed techniques with the use of waste materials symbol of "waste" such as sawdust , metal shavings , pieces of rubber unserviceable , paper and fabrics . In the same year he began the relationship with the Gallery " Mentone " in Florence who introduced him to the fair Arc de Madrid. In the nineties began to produce and exhibit works that have as its theme " the anguish in today's society " and begins to use the old jeans as canvases for his works of social nature. The new millennium sees it important collaborations with the sign of the Turtle Gallery and the Gallery of Rome " The Millennium " in Venice. His long career has seen him hold exhibitions all over the world : New York , Tokyo, Brussels, Madrid, Seville as well as in major Italian cities , from Milan to Rome, Florence , Pisa , Ferrara, Lecce.
The exhibition , sponsored by the President of the Regional Council Pugliese, from Tourism Department , Culture and Tourism of the Region of Puglia , Province of Brindisi, Brindisi Municipality and the Municipality of Mirror , will be open 4 to 14 October 2013, with free admission and the following opening hours : daily from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 16.30 to 20.30.
